There is generally a charge to reprint Horacek cartoons - to cover the time involved in processing requests, the cost of supplying reproduction quality images and because we believe artists should be paid for their work and should be able to make a living. Rates are variable dependent on circumstances, and exceptions may be made (e.g. for activist campaigns, presentations and academic theses). Permission is only granted on the proviso that the cartoons are not changed in anyway - not cropped or stretched or squashed; nothing is altered or added to or deleted from the words; the characters are not transformed or multiplied or expunged, the circumstances depicted are not manipulated, etc.
